It's the original location! Coffee only, no seating. Great baristas to talk to.

Classic downtown Seattle scene...wild people watching!

People are nice there and they remodeled it

The Chase bldg. @ 3rd & Union has a Starbucks! They're going to do tastings every Friday from 12:30 to 1 in April I'm looking forward to it! I went to a tasting in February - it was wonderful and we got free dessert too! But yesterday I just got the Comfort tea Grande Size. You get two bags, it is so flavorful and satisfying and there's free refills with your gold card or just $0.55 per refill if you don't have a gold card

Had a great time in the first ever Starbucks.

As coffee shops go I usually prefer a less crowded place, but this Starbucks is in a popular location so it couldn't be helped. The line was long and stayed that way the whole time I was there. In all fairness the staff worked through it quickly. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so it's good for groups and drinks on a date. Pike Place Market is right across the street and Wells Fargo has an 🧠next door on 1st.

Convenient location. Long line. Fast staff.

Amazing staff , tea was fresh and hot

Long wait for a large dark roast pour-over. I wanted the dark roast in the middle of the afternoon, so I agreed to wait. 47 orders were handled before I got my coffee. The staff was impressively quick and well coordinated - 3 times a team member informed me the coffee was still being prepared. Good coffee when it arrived.

This Starbucks is intent on accommodating homeless people and those who need a free work space. These people do not not make a purchase, but fill the seats and spend time in the bathroom. The Starbucks employees do not mind that their customers have to stand or wait in long lines just to use the bathroom. I'm done with Starbucks.

Staff were super efficient and genuinely kind, thank you thank you

If you're a fan of Starbucks, it the must-go place. The very first one, where it all started. If you are not that much of a fan, then it's overcrowded and noisy with a long queue to come in. Personally, I enjoyed my short visit.

Very spacious inside, rustic atmosphere

Had to get Starbucks in Seattle. This location was suggested to me by a native as the 'original' location's line was very long. Glad I came. Was able to get my drink and a table almost immediately. Great view for people watching and a nice break.

This Starbucks offers the reserve coffee choices usually only available at Starbucks Reserve. Unfortunately when it got really busy employees didn't appear to want to take the time to do the coffee pour over as I watched employees move our cups behind easier orders and took 25 minutes to get drinks!

Great service here. They even gave us free samples of various new seasonal drinks.

Typical reliable Starbucks formula. It's situated adjacent to the entrance to the market, it's a good spot to enjoy a coffee break. External seating area is limited in space but nonetheless offers a gated viewing area from which you can watch the world go by.

It's Starbucks. Consistently great! But this location can get pretty busy with tourists.
Bob Agamalian
It's a Starbucks like any other Starbucks. This one is across from Pike Place Market. Geographically convenient.

Great location & staff but prices are going up

I always enjoy this Starbucks. Today the place was not overly crowded, as it sometimes is, and the service was particularly good!

Super cheerful people working there! I even saw some dancing happening during the coffee making process!

the staff is really great no matter how busy they are they always have a Hello and a moment to share with an old customer been going there for years never disappointed

Very friendly staff on 1st street. Just an FYI- this is not the first Starbucks even though many people think it is. And the original Starbucks almost all ways has a line going out the door. But they do have some reserve cups for sale only available in that location

Friendly staff. Extremely popular during the tourism season so you need to stop by super early to avoid wait line. I just learned that the first Starbucks store was located at 2000 Western Avenue (1971–1976) and it was later moved to its present location.

Extremely loud inside, lousy staff, poorly kept (any Denny's is cleaner than this, *sigh*), and there was a friggin fruit fly in the food display cabinet. Only one heavy cream container, and the entire area near that counter was filthy as ever.If you are paying a living wage, why do people paid less keep their facilities cleaner?!

The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because this location is the quintessential tourist trap. Personally I like to delve more into a city's nooks and crannies. It is real busy both in and out of the store, but staff is speedy and attentive. I like more peace and quiet. But it's across the street from Pike Place Market and a few map and bookstores. This area is very walkable at any time. All in all it's a good place for a good time.

Friendly baristas and great coffee. The perfect combination.

It's ok I guess. Good washroom

Homeless people outside but there was also a chap playing the piano and remarkably well.Free WiFi and coffee and pastries were ok - standard Starbucks.Outdoor seating is tight but available. What we noticed instantly is that literally no-one else who drank inside used ceramic cups.We even had to ask specifically as by default they give single use ones.Everyone was using single use plastic or paper cups (and we know those aren't really recyclable because of the layer inside). Not a single person in the 30mins we were there had a reusable cup or flask. Even the person working here used a disposable cup when she was having a meeting. Not a single push by starbucks in what is supposed to be a flagship store to promote recycling or reuse. If companies like starbucks continue to do this stuff then we're all doomed.

The first Starbucks. The employees are awesome here. Excellent customer service

It’s great visiting the first store of Starbucks. Awesome staff and friendly atmosphere.

If you don't want to wait an hour in line at the original Starbucks, this one is a good alternative. Just take a photo with yourself and the original Starbucks, and then walk a few step to get a cup of coffee at this location instead. You get the best of both worlds, right?

The best coffee around!

The customer service is good. I asked for a steamer of the pumpkin latte and no questions were asked they made it for me right a d it was wonderful.

Just a normal Starbucks, yummy and always busy!

I know I should not have expected it but I was really hoping for a Malay Chinese style Laksa, still not bad though.

In Pikes market, busy but very good.

When I visit Seattle, I always stop by this store. For 6years, they are still nice and great. Although this is not the first starbucks store, it is good place to have rest after seeing Pikeplace Market and the first Starbucks.

Nice place to enjoy coffee and so friendly staff who wear black glasses
Mohamed ELDEK
The lady at the cashier was super friendly. Thankfully wasn’t busy when i visited around 5pm. Cool outside seating area👌ðŸ»Same coffee you get anywhere else
Mirena Stinchcomb
I was visiting here with my mother last week and just wanted to come and see thank you for the use of great customer service and going beyond to make sure that I am satisfied. My favorite is the strawberry Frappuccino and I specifically come to this location because you’ll always make it the way that I need it to be made
Brian Marsh
It's a Starbucks. The coffee is the same as most other Starbucks, with but with several reserve coffees that are only available at this location (or others near by?)It's worth a visit, especially if you're in the area and sight seeing near the historic Public Market Center!
Ashley Castana
Yummmy the partners are so kind and always make me smile and leave happy
First name here Please
This place was amazing! Obviously the coffee was good but the service was outstanding. I had attended a show the night before and my boyfriends truck got towed. While he ventured to the tow yard I wandered the streets of Seattle luggage in hand. I didn’t know what to do or where to go. I found safety in this busy coffee shop. I think I sat there for almost four hours, and not once did someone ( employees) make me feel uncomfortable or unwanted. Luckily I had a book to read so I sat and tried to keep myself occupied and not panic. I observed and overheard the friendliest staff. Very nice and polite. Helped me find safety and comfort in a difficult time.

Got there bright n early on Saturday. No line ups, great service, loved it.

Other than the quality standardd we've come to know and expect from a Starbucks...this location is by all means Top Shelf with their customers service and outstanding cleanliness and perfect touch of friendliness.
